Pharmaceutics Laboratories

Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the practical aspects of manufacturing formulation, and evaluation of various pharmaceutical dosage forms. The subject also helps the students to acquire knowledge and skill to apply quality assurance principles, including legal and ethical aspects involving drugs, delivering a quality assured product as per the pharmacopoeia, WHO and ISO standards. In this laboratory experiments and research work carried out on formulation of different dosage forms, technology-based experiments. It deals with the study of oral, parenteral, dermal, transdermal, and mucosal dosage forms; it also focuses on the preparation and evaluation of cosmetics. It also covers basic topics like development of new drugs, preformulation, along with principles of formulation design. These laboratories provide knowledge about the manufacturing of pharmaceutical preparations and help in training the students in drug formulations like tablets, capsules, parenteral, ointments, creams, eye drops, syrups, drug interaction, stability, shelf-life studies, etc. Different aspects of filling, packing, sealing, and labelling are studied by the students.

Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry Laboratories

Pharmacognosy is a specific discipline that deals with the rapid developments in the knowledge and utilization of medicinal substances of biological origin (plant, microorganism, and animal products) used for human and veterinary purposes. The laboratory has various instruments like Soxhlet apparatus, Digital Balance, Calorimeter, UV cabinet. This lab conducts isolation, separation, purification, identification, and evaluation of phytoconstituents from medicinal plants. The lab is also suitable for organoleptic evaluation of crude and natural drugs.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratories

The department of pharmaceutical chemistry is the central important branches of the institute. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to undertake academics in Diploma of Pharmacy course. The department has various equipment’s like Digital balance, Abbe Refractometer, Polarimeter, Water Distillation unit, Conductivity meter, Ph meter, Calorimeter. This lab deals testing and identification of various chemicals and drugs; synthesis and purification of chemical compounds; identification of medicinally active compounds.

Human Anatomy & Physiology Laboratories

The Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory facilitates study of anatomy in the bodily systems using various models, the dissection of specimens, and with cutting edge technology to study virtual human cadavers, using online software. This lab provides the understanding of different systems of Human Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology with tools like computer software, models, charts, permanent slides, bones, skeletons, diagnostic kits etc.

Biochemistry Laboratories

This lab is meant for analysis of biological samples like urine, blood, sugars, amino acids, cholesterol, fats, and other chemicals of biological importance.

Pharmacology Laboratories

Pharmacology lab consists of equipment to investigate the activity of various drug samples, such as Rota Rod, Electro-convulsiometer, Analgesiometer, Histamine chamber and Actophotometer.

Human Anatomy and Physiology of human body is also studied with the help of charts, models including human skeleton and various types of apparatus. This lab gives the exposure to students to handle animals and learn the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics principles. This lab provides the knowledge of general pharmacology, drug dose, mechanism of action of drugs, screening of drugs, etc. This lab is equipped with computer software for the basic demonstration of pharmacology experiments.

Central Instrumentation Laboratories

The central instrumentation laboratory provides basic research support to the centres of science and social science for their instrumentation requirements. To strengthen the facility with state-of-art advanced research instruments making it a model hub for scientific research in this region. Maintenance and upgrade of instruments in the central facility. This lab provides instrumentation facility for students and faculty for conducting analytical practical & research work. Interested researchers, faculty members, and students can avail the facility for their academic and research activities.

Computer Laboratories

Students, faculty, and staff have access to the computer labs, which provide the tools and technologies to produce websites, edit papers, complete class assignments, communicate via email, conduct data analyses, and access library resources. This lab has high end configuration computers outfitted with advanced software and broadband internet connectivity. The laboratory is meant for learning and conducting practical as per the syllabus. The internet facility is available for students in computer lab where they can surf the internet to gather unlimited information and increase their knowledge.
