A one-day Seminar was organized by the Accurate College of Pharmacy (ACP) in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association Delhi State Branch (IPADSB) on 14th May 2022 at the seminar hall. The topic of the seminar was “Pharmacovigilance and Pharma Regulatory - Current Challenges and Way Forward". The objective of the seminar was to impart knowledge & exposure to the pharmacy students in the field of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Regulatory Affairs.

More than 200 students and faculties from different colleges were registered & take part in the seminar. Around 100 students and faculties have attended the seminar offline. The seminar was also made available to attend for the students and faculties of different colleges by online mode through Facebook live.

The Program started at 10:00 AM with an Inaugural session Where the coordinator of the seminar Mr. Vivek Dhiyani (Assistant Professor, ACP) welcomed all the dignitaries and guests of honor.

The Guests of honor were Mr. Kalhan Bazaz, President, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Delhi State Branch), Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Secretary, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Delhi State Branch), and Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Head-Research & Development, Modi-Mundipharma Private Limited.

The Speakers of the seminar were Mr. Rishi Kumar, Scientific Assistant, IPC, Ghaziabad, and Ms. Bhawna Gupta, Director, Regulatory Affairs, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., Gurugram,

The Seminar began with an auspicious lamp-lightening ceremony where the present guests, students, and faculty members took the blessings of goddess Saraswati by lightning the lamp and along with Saraswati Vandana.

After the lamp lighting ceremony Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Principal, ACP, felicitates the guests by presenting a flower bouquet to them.

Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma who was also the convener of the seminar gave the welcome address and a brief introduction of the event. In his address, he expressed his sincere thanks to all the guests of the event for becoming a part of the seminar. He told in his address how the Indian pharma Industry made its mark not only in India but in the world during the difficult times of covid and turns disaster into an opportunity. He also makes aware to the students about the opportunities related to training, placement, and career prospects.

After the welcome address by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the signing authorities of the Accurate College of Pharmacy and Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Delhi State Branch).

The key purpose of this MoU was to conduct pharmacy workshops, special short-term professional development programs, personality development programs, and other co-operative efforts set forth between Accurate college of pharmacy and IPADSB from time to time. Also, the IPADSB shall provide career guidance to pharmacy students of ACP through its PACE (Proficient Advice on Career and Education) Programmers. This MoU will also act as a source of observation and motivation for the all-around development of students in particular and the institute in general.

Mr. Kalhan Bazaz, President, IPADSB addressed after the MoU signing ceremony. He congratulated the ACP management, students, and faculty members for this collaboration. He mentioned the functions of IPADSB and gave guidance to students for their professional growth in the field of pharmacy.

The seminar then proceeded to the first lecture session by Mr. Rishi Kumar, Scientific Assistant, IPC, Ghaziabad. He started his address with a presentation on ‘Status of Pharmacovigilance in India: A PVPI perspective’. He gave a basic introduction to pharmacovigilance at the start of his presentation. Then he talked about the history and current scenario of pharmacovigilance. He interacted with students and take questions and quarries about the topic. Students were delighted to actively take part in the session and interact with the official of IPC.

At 1:00 PM lunch break was announced for the seminar with all the guests and speakers.

The second speaker session started with Ms. Bhawna Gupta, Director- Regulatory Affairs, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited. She started her presentation with an introduction to regulatory affairs. She told students about the role and importance of DRA in the pharmaceutical industry. She focused on the Importance of regulatory Affairs and the Indian Regulatory scenario. Students take part actively in the session by asking their queries related to the DRA.

Both the speakers gave wonderful & informative presentations in the seminar. A panel discussion was also organized after the speaker session with IPA members & speakers, where the esteemed dignitaries shared their views and knowledge with the students.

The Concluding remark was given by Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Secretary, IPADSB. He beautifully summarized all the sessions of the seminar and presented his thoughts about the seminar. Dr. Neeraj Kumar said that the seminar was successfully organized. The objectives of the seminar were fulfilled and he appreciated all the team members of ACP for organizing such a wonderful seminar seamlessly.

After that Memento & Certificate was presented to all the guests by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Principal, ACP. The seminar was then ended with a sincere vote of thanks by Mr. Vivek dhiyani, Assistant Professor, ACP.
