Aim:

  • To impart suitable education and training to the engaged in students in pharmacy profession.
  • To understand the gap between the academia and industries.

The workshop of the Academic Year 2021-2022 for students and faculty was organized by Accurate college of Pharmacy on 4th December, 2021 at the seminar hall, Accurate Groups of Institution, Greater Noida on the topic “Recent Qualities and Regulatory Aspects- An Academia and Pharma Industry Perspective”, where students were introduced about how academics and pharma industries are bridged together.

Preamble of orientation by Ms Avantika Tyagi and Ms. Gayatri Joshi started with welcoming dignitaries for their presence at the event. A brief introduction about the guest speakers included: Mr. Kalhan Bazaz Sir, President, IPA, Delhi State Branch.

Mr. Sushant Sharma, Assistant Drugs Controller, CDSCO, Baddi, H.P., Dr. Mymoona Akhter, Associate Professor, SPER, Jamia Hamdard and last Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Head R&D, Modi-Mundipharma Ltd., Meerut.

The workshop was officially inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Principal, Accurate College of Pharmacy and other dignitaries and thus by sharing the mission of the programme. The programme then progressed through the prayers of Goddess Saraswati.

In his brief address to the students, the Principal of Accurate college of Pharmacy, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma expressed delight about the background of Pharmacy. He shared about the vision of IPA and CDSCO, and how academia the pillar of the industries. His talk included various guidelines such as: WHO, ICH, WTO, USFDA, etc. His words were concluded by the phase “quality education provide quality medicines.”

Dr. Kalhan Bazaz, President, IPA, Delhi State Branch, our first speaker of the event, shared light upon the topic “Pharma Professionals and IPA, Delhi State Branch”. He enlightened students with the vision of IPA- a premier organization representing body of pharmaceutical professionals of the country, encompassing the various aspects of pharmaceutical and healthcare domain. Their works towards sensitizing the government and the community as a whole for the betterment of the Society. His talk included how India is the largest supplier of generic drug in globe and aspects related to pharmaceutical industries.

Mr. Sushant Sharma, Assistant Drugs Controller, CDSCO, Baddi, H.P, second speaker of the event scope on the topic- “Regulatory Framework of India and Process Manufacturing Approvals”. He explained about the regulatory system of India and how approvals are granted for new medicines. CDSCO, laying down the standards for Drugs, control over the quality of imported Drugs in the country and coordination of the activities of State Drug Control Organizations by providing expert advice with a view of bring about the uniformity in the enforcement of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Dr. Mymoona Akhter, Associate Professor, SPER, Jamia Hamdard , third speaker of the workshop spoke about the topic- “Academia Perspective- Pharmaceutical qualifying there, Regulatory”. She shared valuable information about the role of academia in industries and role in early drug development (EDD). A detailed Academic knowledge about the Drug Discovery.

Lastly, Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, DGM -R&D, Modi-Mundipharma Ltd., our final speaker enlightened students on the topic- “Industry perspective- Recent Aspects in quality and Regulatory” by sharing the basis of Industry. Followed next was a brief on Quality of Medicine and rules and regulations for import and export of medicine in India.

10 minutes of open discussion round was kept for the students, where the esteemed dignitaries shared their views and knowledge.

As a token of gratitude, memento and certificated were presented to the dignitaries and Vote of thanks was proposed to the dignitaries by Dr. Adil Ahmed.
